Appie Millsaps was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on August 10, 1966 to John A. Owens and Dorothy Terry Owens. She is married to Leland Edward Millsaps. They have three children: Brittany Anne Millsaps, Savannah Lyn Millsaps and Terry Virginia Millsaps.

Education:

Educated through high school at Tuscaloosa Academy.  Graduated summa cum laude, Class of 1984.  Graduated Dartmouth College, Class of 1988 with a degree in government. Graduated University of Alabama School of Law in 1992 with a Juris Doctor.
